Ergonomics was foremost in the redesign of the new. Based on customer feedback and a review of popular power tools design, the engineering team created a more secure grip for users with smaller hands. The handle base is sized appropriately so that it is more stable in your palm, while the entire handle’s circumference is proportionately designed for a better fit of the human hand. The slight tapered shape from the top allows the handle to not only attain this better fit; it also becomes more steady and comfortable in your hands. The unit overall is much more balanced and is easily cradled to allow the operator to quickly make setting adjustments and changes sensor position.

Internal Shielding
Due to its innovative internal shielding, is safe for the operator to use as a handheld device. The X-ray tube and collimator are completely enclosed in a proprietary blend of metals that are designed to block radiation leakage.
Backscatter Shield
Most of the low-dose radiation generated by the NOMAD will be absorbed by the patient, but in the case of backscatter radiation, the acrylic polymer shield at the front of the device provides the operator with a zone of protection.
